Bo Bois is more than just a furniture store, it’s a family story that started in 1970, in the heart of Souk el Nejarin, Downtown Beirut. That’s where Michel Baakliny, the grandfather, opened a first store. He didn’t have much, just his hands, his tools, and a deep love for honest work. Over time, he built a reputation for making furniture people could trust. Strong, simple, made to last.
After he passed away, his son Elie Baakliny stepped in to carry on what his father had started. It wasn’t easy. The Lebanese war changed everything, and the family lost all their shops in Downtown. But Elie didn’t stop. He moved the business to Jdaydeh and started again, one order at a time, one client at a time.
Today, the story continues with the third generation: Michel Baakliny, named after his grandfather and Christian his brother. They watched both their father and grandfather work. They saw how much time, care, and heart went into every piece. Today, they’re proud to continue that journey. With fresh ideas, a modern approach to design, and the introduction of AI tools, they’re bringing Bo Bois into a new chapter, one that stays rooted in the past but looks forward to the future.
Through it all, one thing has stayed the same: Bo Bois believes in making quality furniture at fair prices, treating customers like family, and staying true to its roots. The materials may change, the tools may evolve, but the heart behind the work hasn’t gone anywhere.
